Barndoor Strategy organised a well-attended round table for MPs and Peers interested in small modular reactors on AI and Data Centres.

According to the International Energy Agency, AI datacentre power consumption is set to double by 2030.  With the competition to build and scale AI taking off globally, low carbon nuclear energy provides the obvious alternative to gas or other fossil fuels.  Speakers from Rolls-Royce SMR, engineering firm Assystem and the data centre sector have been invited.

The event saw attendees including Simon Barber from Assystem, Martin Canaway from Gensler, Michael Crawforth from Rolls-Royce SMR and Spencer Lamb from Kao Data.  The session was chaired by former SMR APPG Chair Baggy Shanker MP.
