Barndoor Strategy appointed Secretariat of the APPG for Small Modular Nuclear Reactors

Barndoor Strategy was delighted to be appointed as the Secretariat of the APPG for Small Modular Nuclear Reactors (SMRs) at the APPG Inaugural General Meeting in Parliament yesterday.

The APPG, which will be chaired by the Labour MP for Derby South, Baggy Shankar MP, is one of the foremost All-Party groups advocating for more investment in nuclear energy in the UK and it plays a central role in informing MPs and Peers about the latest SMR technology and innovation and the role they should be playing in the UK’s transition to net zero and ensuring national energy security.

The other APPG officers are former Minister for Nuclear Andrew Bowie MP, Labour MP Catherine Atkinson, and Lord Walney, the former MP for Barrow-in-Furness.

There are a series of exciting projects, briefings, and events planned for the APPG in the coming months which Barndoor Strategy’s energy division will play a key role in delivering.
