Barndoor Strategy was delighted to work with our client ACT The App Association on delivering a hugely successful App Economy Conference 2025 in London this week.
The App Association is a trade association for tech SMEs and boasts more than 1,000 members around the world. The App Economy Conference runs annually in Washington DC and Brussels, but this is the first time one has been held in the UK.
The Conference saw more than 30 British tech entrepreneurs come together in Westminster to discuss some of the key policy issues that are affecting start-ups and SMEs here in the UK.
Barndoor Strategy helped to deliver a hugely successful Parliamentary receptions with speeches from Lord Clement-Jones, Shadow Secretary of State for Science, Innovation, and Technology Alan Mak MP, and Lib Dem DSIT spokesperson, Victoria Collins MP among others.
We also successfully brough the US ‘fly-in’ to Westminster for the very first time with members and App Association officials holding more than 25 meetings in a single day with officials from the Treasury, Department of Science, Innovation, and Technology, Department of Business and Trade, Competition and Markets Authority, and more.
Meetings also took place with think-tanks including the IPPR and Tony Blair Institute and Members of both houses of Parliament including representatives of the Science, Innovation, and Technology Select Committee, the Lords Science and Technology Committee, and the Lords Communications and Digital Committee as well as a number of former Ministers.
The App Economy Conference 2025 was a huge success and we look forward to working with ACT The App Association on an even bigger and better event in 2026.
