Former Metro Bank Public Affairs Lead Battersby joins Barndoor Strategy FS team

John Battersby, former Head of Public Affairs and ESG at Metro Bank, has joined growing public and regulatory affairs consultancy Barndoor Strategy where he will lead on Barndoor Strategy’s financial services work.
Battersby has more than twenty years’ experience in financial services, communications and public policy. His previous roles include leading communications and policy at fintech disruptor RateSetter and overseeing communications and marketing at global insurance market Lloyd’s of London. Prior to that, he spent more than a decade at HM Treasury under the Blair, Brown and Cameron Governments where his positions included Head of Communications Strategy, Head of News, and a number of policy development roles.
Founded in 2017, Barndoor Strategy is a growing public affairs network delivering tailored senior counsel to public policy clients from a network of established experts in public affairs, regulation and communications.
