The Economist Antitrust Summit took place at the old County Hall Building in London on today. This was the second such conference and was well attended, with many leading competition experts from a wide range of law firms and regulatory bodies
The first half of the day saw all delegates in a main plenary session with separate streams for those interested in broader competition issues and those interested specifically in tech.
Barndoor Strategy CEO Havard Hughes commented that “It was great to head such impassioned and technically detailed discussions about the future of anti-trust policy in the EU and beyond. There were some fascinating sessions on competition agencies in the age of economic nationalism to digital regulation in the EU.
“It was also great to see the UK’s competition authorities front and central in the form of Sarah Cardell, Chief Executive, Competition and Markets Authority and Doug Gurr, CMA Chair.”
