The APPG for Small Modular Nuclear Reactors (SMRs), which Barndoor Strategy provides the Secretariat for, has today hosted a meeting with Rolls Royce to discuss the challenges and opportunities presented to the UK by their Small Modular Nuclear Reactors.
The meeting, which was attended by Parliamentarians from all the main political parties and representatives of the Nuclear Industry Association.
It was addressed by Alistair Evans, Director of Corporate Affairs and Government at Rolls-Royce, who gave a detailed presentations and then answered plenty of questions in a lively discussion.
The session will be the first of a series of meetings with key players in the SMR sector as the UK gets to grips with its growing energy crisis and seeks to understand the vital role that the nuclear sector, and especially SMRs, can play in alleviating the crisis, helped to ensure the UK’s ongoing energy security, driving forward the Government’s Net Zero agenda, and helping to keep energy bills low.
