John Battersby

John has 20 years’ experience leading and delivering public affairs, policy, communications and strategy in both the public and private sector.

He started his career at HM Treasury where he held roles in policy and private office before leading the department’s communications team during the global financial crisis and the economic downturn and recovery that followed. John had broad experience across the financial services sector, having overseen communications and marketing for the Lloyd’s of London global insurance market, and led communications and policy at fintech platform RateSetter, before establishing and leading a new public affairs and ESG function at Metro Bank.
