Jennifer Powers

A former Special Adviser to the Prime Minister on energy, regulation and business at the No.10 Policy Unit, Jennifer has more than 25 years of public policy, public affairs and public relations experience.

Prior to work in Government, Jennifer was legislative affairs director at a membership organisation, and worked for Ofgem, the energy regulator. Jennifer is a former managing director of professional services consultancy, operating in UK and EU, and a former corporate affairs director. 

After graduating from Central College of Iowa and the London School of Economics, Jennifer worked in local government, for a regulator and a multinational energy company.

Since leaving Government, she has worked for National Grid ESO on the transition to National Energy System Operator, and for World Kinect Corporation and Meld Energy on the development of green hydrogen in the UK.

Jennifer leads Barndoor Strategy’s energy and sustainability practice. Other areas of practice include: tech, telecommunications, infrastructure, transport and education.
